The activities of the UTU's legislative arm, the UTU Political Action Committee, are detailed here.

Users will also find links for sending e-mail to the UTU's Legislative Departments in both Washington, D.C., and Cleveland, Ohio, and for downloading UTU PAC pledge forms.

This link will take users directly to UTU Canada's website, which is administered by the UTU's Canadian office in Ottawa, Ontario.

UTUIA

UTU members and their families can purchase a variety of insurance products from the UTU Insurance Association. This link will take users directly to the UTUIA's website, where UTUIA products are explained in detail.

Links are also provided for reaching the UTUIA Field Supervisor in your area.
 

Discipline Income Protection Program

UTU members can enroll in the UTU's Discipline Income Protection Program, which provides income to a member who may be suspended, dismissed or removed from service by their employer. An e-mail link to the UTU's Discipline Income Protection Program Department is also provided for members who would like more information about the program.

Contact UTU

Visitors to the UTU's website can use the e-mail links provided here to contact various departments at the UTU International Headquarters and the union's Legislative Office in Washington, D.C.

There are also links to UTU State Legislative Directors, UTU General Chairpersons (under construction), the Transportation Safety Team and the Human Rights Committee.

Awards/Agreements

International, general committee and local officers can use ZyLab's search technology to research thousands of awards housed on the UTU website.

Other important information that can be found here includes: the Railway Labor Act, the UTU Constitution, National Agreements, Rate Tables and Fringe Benefit Sheets. Also here are various labor protective conditions applicable in railroad mergers, leases and trackage-right applications approved by the Surface Transportation Board.

The purpose of the Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union is to unite the families of the UTU and to promote their welfare, socially, morally, and intellectually. The Auxiliary also promotes  the understanding of legislative issues affecting UTU members.

Union Member Rights and Officer Responsibilities Under the LMRDA

The Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA) guarantees certain rights to union members and imposes certain responsibilities on union officers. The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) enforces many LMRDA provisions while other provisions, such as the bill of rights, may only be enforced by union members through private suit in Federal court.

Ethics Board Ruling

The independent UTU Board of Ethics and Qualifications, following almost a year of investigation, has concluded that allegations against various current and former UTU officers and designated legal counsel are speculative and lacking in evidence.
