Wilcox
Wilcox
went to work for the BNSF Railway in the spring of 1998 in
Winslow, Ariz. A member of UTU Local 113 at Winslow, he was
a hard-working employee and a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife,
Tina, and three children. He was active in the local youth
programs of Winslow as a coach and volunteer and was an avid
outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish. Wilcox died in an
accident in Holbrook, Ariz,. on the night of Feb. 7, 2009,
after being struck by a passing train. |

Gregory
Blevins
Gregory
“Greg” Blevins, 56, of Clovis, N.M, was fatally injured
in a train accident on Feb. 28, 2009. He was president
of UTU Local 1168 in Clovis. Blevins was preceded in
death by his mother and father and is survived by his
son, Bryan, his daughter, Janay, two sisters and four
grandchildren. He was a man that gave of himself in
service to others. He worked for the BNSF Railway for 35
years and had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam
era. He had an ability to brighten your day and put a
smile on your face. He was always very proud of his
children and grandchildren and never tired of speaking
about their accomplishments. His family and friends miss
his infectious laughter.

Lenard E.
Noice
Lenard
“ Lenny “ Eugene Noice, 59, of Albuquerque, N.M., died
Jan. 16, 2009, as a result of a train accident. Noice, a
locomotive engineer and a member of UTU Local 1168 at
Clovis, N.M., worked for the BNSF Railway railroad for
35 years. He is survived by his wife, Carla, son, Lenny
Noice II, twin brother, Kenny, sister, Julie, and his
parents Juliana and Harold. He had served in the U.S.
Air Force during the Vietnam era. Noice was a man of
many talents. He loved to fly-fish and work with a wide
variety of electronics. He will forever be missed by his
family and friends.

Craig Lang
Union Pacific switchman Craig Lang, 41, a
member of Local 367 in Omaha, Neb., was killed about 6 a.m.
on Jan. 28 at a UP yard in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Investigators said Lang stepped off a train on which he was
riding and was struck by a coal train going in the opposite
direction. |

Saxton Haselwood
Saxton Haselwood, a member of
Local 1227 in Wichita, Kan., was killed early the morning of
Sunday, Feb. 8, at Union Pacific's Herrington Yard outside
Herrington, Kan. Haselwood, unmarried, was 26 and has been
railroading just two years. |

Jared Boehlke
Jared Boehlke, age 33, died May 10, 2009, of injuries
sustained while working for CSX in the Selkirk, N.Y., yard.
He was a member of Local 212 in Albany, N.Y. He is survived
by his wife, three year-old-daughter, mother, father and ten
brothers. He is predeceased by a brother. Also surviving are
his maternal and paternal grandmothers. He was a man of
strong faith, an avid knife maker, and was extremely devoted
to his family and friends. He will always be missed but
never forgotten. |

Dustin Moles
UTU member Dustin Moles, 33, a conductor on short line
Alabama & Tennessee River Railroad, was killed late
Wednesday (June 24) when the train on which he was riding
derailed while being switched into a shipper facility,
reports the Gadsden Times. Moles was a member of Local 1972,
Birmingham, Ala. He started working as a conductor in 2005.
Before that, he was a police officer at Glencoe Police
Department. An assistant fire chief in Albertville said the
police department got the call about 11 p.m. that a train
had derailed and the conductor was missing. By the time
police and fire officials arrived, Moles was discovered,
crushed between the derailed tanker car and a pile of scrap
metal, according to the assistant fire chief. |
