PHILADELPHIA – A tentative new agreement has been reached on behalf of UTU members in Local 1594 employed by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) as bus and trolley operators for SEPTA’s Red Arrow Division.
Details of the new agreement will be explained to members at a meeting Sunday, Dec. 13. A member ratification vote will follow.
The UTU Local 1594 negotiating team included, Waverly Harris, acting general chairperson; Brian Caldwell, vice local chairperson; and Kevin Baldwin, general committee secretary.
They were assisted by Calvin Studivant, UTU alternate International Bus Department vice president; Billy Moye, International representative; and Don Dunlevy, Pennsylvania state legislative director
UTU International President Mike Futhey praised the efforts of the negotiating team. Earlier this fall, members of Local 1594 voted overwhelmingly to retain the UTU as their bargaining representative.
