Extra security aboard Tri-Rail trains
WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- Law enforcement officials are taking aim at criminals and potential terrorists, Web site www.wptv.com reported.

A variety of law enforcement officers from agencies all over South Florida will be riding rails with commuters Wednesday morning as part of 'Operation Transit Shield Two.'

This is the second time transportation authorities have put together a campaign like this.

Local, regional, and federal officers are participating in the operation. They will hand out information on how to detect and prevent suspicious and criminal activity when taking the train.

"I think it's good that they're doing that because they need protection. Like, we really need to boost up the system. I think it's very good they're doing it," said Tri-Rail commuter Michael Williams.

Operation Transit Shield Two is underway in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
