The UTU International is conducting a Treasurers' Workshop and CSXT Direct Receipts of Dues training session Sept. 22-24, 2008, at its headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as a one-day CSXT Direct Receipts of Dues training session Sept. 16, 2008, in Savannah, Ga.

The three-day training session in Cleveland will cover the implementation of Direct Receipts of Dues from CSXT on Monday, Sept. 22. The next two days will provide local treasurers with hands-on training on the responsibilities and reporting duties pertaining to their office. The International has also arranged for the Department of Labor to make a presentation on its record-keeping requirements.
The three-day workshop includes all training and materials at no cost to local treasurers. Locals are responsible for the travel, hotel and meal expenses. The UTU provides transportation between the hotel and the UTU International for those attending.
Expenses connected with your attendance may be reimbursable, if pre-approved at a local meeting, as an allowable expense of the local.
The Savannah one-day training session will cover the implementation of the Direct Receipts of Dues from CSXT to the International and will be held at the Wingate by Wyndham Savannah Airport hotel, located at 15 Sylvester C. Formey Dr., in Savannah, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees who are interested in overnight accommodations at the hotel should contact Barbara Hamilton of Williamsburg Travel toll free at (800) 437-5745. The UTU room rate is $64.

Training sessions will be conducted by UTU International Auditors Stephen Noyes and Bobby Brantely.
Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. It is recommended that those attending make their hotel reservations at the time of registration.
