travel agent of the UTU For Life Program,
is currently offering the perfect trip to take
before the UTU regional meeting in
Anchorage: an Alaskan Cruise.

Spousal Tour Train Trip
UTU has arranged for a Spousal Tour Train Trip on the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Hunter, Alaska, and back for all registered spouses and registered guests. The train trip tour will be on Tuesday, June 14, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will include lunch on the train. This tour is for registered spouses and registered guests only and will cost $25. There are a limited amount of seats on this train tour and it will sell out quickly. Register early. Don't be left behind.

UTU members and other guests who are interested in taking a train tour but are unable to participate in the Spousal Tour can contact the Alaska Railroad to make separate arrangements. See the Alaska Railroad Scenic Rail Tours notice below.

Alaska Railroad Scenic Rail Tours
The Alaska Railroad is offering UTU members and their families attending the Anchorage regional meeting discounted rail tours from June 1-15, 2005. All adult rail fares will be discounted 20% on available adult tour segments. To make a reservation, call the Alaska Railroad toll-free at 1-800-544-0552 (907-265-2494 locally). You must tell the reservation representative that you are with the UTU to receive the discount. Also, discounts can only be received by contacting the Alaska Railroad directly. Discounts are not available through a travel agent. For more information, visit the railroad's website at:
www.alaskarailroad.com/passenger/index.html.

Golf
The UTU Regional Meeting Golf Tournament will be held Sunday, June 12, at the Anchorage Golf Course. Shotgun start will begin at 7:00 a.m. The registration cost is $80, which includes 18 holes of golf, lunch, transportation and prizes. Transportation to the golf course will leave both hotels at approximately 5:45 a.m.

*The block of rooms available to the United Transportation Union at the Anchorage Hilton and the Howard Johnson Plaza hotel have been sold out. Anyone planning on attending the Anchorage meeting who has not yet made hotel reservations should contact one of the other area hotels to obtain a room reservation. Other hotels include the Days Inn (907-276-7226), the Super 8 Motel (907-276-8884), the Red Roof Inn (907-274-1650), the Ramada Inn Anchorage (907-272-7561) and Homewood Suites Anchorage (907-762-8007; ask for Dee Dee Lewis to get UTU rate). At this time, the UTU has not arranged a discount room rate at all of these other area hotels. Although the Hilton Anchorage is serving as the host hotel for the meeting, all meal functions (except the Sunday night welcome reception) and workshops will be held in the William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center, just a short walk from both the Hilton and Howard Johnson hotels.
