PATH shutterbug held, released
Port Authority spokesman Tony Ciavolella said a 24-year-old Israeli tourist was questioned and later released after Port Authority police officers saw him snapping photographs at the Exchange Place PATH station Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 2), according to this report published by the Jersey Journal.

According to Ciavolella, police spotted the man at the top of the escalators near the entrance of the station just before 5 p.m.

An investigation of the man's digital camera showed that he had recently taken photographs of other train systems.

Police took the man into custody and notified the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force, Ciavolella said.

A background check cleared the man and he was released, said Ciavolella.
