Amtrak is in trouble again. On July 7^th the U.S. Senate Sub Committee on Transportation Appropriations will vote on Amtrak appropriations. The Chairman, Senator Shelby’s (R- Alabama), draft bill has Amtrak figured for a zero dollar appropriation. Repeat, Amtrak is slated to get nothing in their appropriation. Although it is tentative, the Full Committee is scheduled to vote on the Amtrak appropriation on July 9^th, 1998.
