UTU ENGINEERS INVITED TO UTU engineers are being sought by the producers of a television documentary series that chronicles the history of railroading. Writers from Greystone Communications, which produces the series "Trains Unlimited" for cable television's History Channel, recently contacted the UTU International to find active and retired members willing to share their knowledge and experience as engineers. The writers would like to hear from those working on modern locomotives, as well as those with experience from the steam era, and have expressed an interest in hearing from women, blacks, and others who can give them a minority perspective on the occupation. Also sought for another episode of the series are UTU members familiar with cabooses. In particular, the writers would like to hear from those with photos, film or video footage that documents railroading from the tail end, but all are encouraged to participate. The two episodes are part of a total of 13 episodes of "Trains Unlimited" currently being produced by Greystone Communications, which has already broadcast 13 episodes. Those wishing to play a part in these projects, or who know active or retired members who would like to share their experiences, should contact: UTU Public Relations |
