In many of your states, the results are in.  You know who is victorious and who is not.  No matter what happens, those votes have been cast and the election is over with.  Now is not the time to dwell on the past, but act on the future.

As you try and digest the national news, you will quickly see that the political universe is in chaos right now.  It appears that the Republicans will probably control the Congress.  The Presidency is still to close to call at this moment.  During the next several days there will undoubtedly be many recounts.  The newly-elected are scurrying around trying to assemble staff both in the nation's capitol and in their home districts.  The re-elected incumbents are scurrying for committee assignments.  It is as if everyone is in a fog.  During this time of uncertainty, it is the time for us to attack!!

When the fog clears, the provisions of HR 4844 should be the first thing they see.  Everyone who was elected has promised to be bi-partisan.  Let them begin with the bi-partisan provisions of HR 4844.  When they finally sit down to dinner tonight, and every night until it is done, the provisions of the Railroad Retirement and Survivors' Improvement Act should be on their plate.

While their recent efforts have been geared to making speeches and promises to either get elected or re-elected, our resolve has not changed.  Our priorities remain the same today as they were last summer.  The provisions of the Railroad Retirement and Survivors' Improvement Act was then, and is now, PRIORITY ONE.

Call your Representatives and Senators right now and tell them to act on Railroad Retirement.  Call, fax and e-mail both the outgoing and incoming Members of Congress.  Everyone here is either mad or confused so your calls, faxes and e-mails should be positive and upbeat.  You should be the first friend they hear from.  We should be the biggest thing on their agenda.  When they return for the lame duck session, tell them to pass the principles of HR 4844.  During this time of confusion, IT IS TIME TO ACT!!!
