66 U.S. Senators now support historic
Railroad Retirement Reform bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 21) - As of Wednesday, 66 U.S. Senators have publicly pledged to support quick action on the Railroad Retirement and Survivors' Improvement Act of 2000.

That's 6 new Senators since Tuesday who have joined the 60 others who had previously signed on to a letter sent to the leadership of the Senate Finance Committee expressing "support for and quick action on the Railroad Retirement Reform proposal."

"We now have a two-thirds majority in the U.S. Senate," said UTU International President Charles L. Little. "It's time to move the Railroad Retirement legislation through the Senate for conclusive vote."
