60 U.S. Senators now support historic
Railroad Retirement Reform bill

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 20) - As of Tuesday, 60 U.S. Senators - including 33 Democrats and 27 Republicans - have publicly pledged to support quick action on the Railroad Retirement and Survivors' Improvement Act of 2000.

Since Friday, 13 Senators have joined the 47 who had previously signed on to a letter sent to the leadership of the Senate Finance Committee expressing "support for and quick action on the Railroad Retirement Reform proposal."

"We now have well above a majority in the U.S. Senate," said UTU International President Charles L. Little. "The Railroad Retirement Reform legislation is moving at high speed through the Senate."
