AETNA U.S. HEALTHCARE
Managed Care - Provider ChangesEffective January 1, 2000, the Bon Secours Hospital System, which consists of four hospitals in the Richmond, Va., area, is opting out of Aetna U.S. Healthcares network of healthcare providers.
Because Aetna U.S. Healthcare contracts with other facilities in the Richmond area, the company has determined that members will enjoy continued access to the full scope of hospital services on both sides of the James River.
Terminating hospitals include Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center in Mechanicsville, Va., and St. Marys Hospital, Bon Secours Stuart Circle Hospital, and the Richmond Community Hospital, all in Richmond.
There are 19 Primary Care Physicians who may potentially terminate from the network because they only have admitting privileges at the terminating hospitals. Aetna will assist these physicians in obtaining privileges at other participating hospitals. If they do not obtain privileges by January 1, 2000, they will terminate from the network for all services.
