TPI to terminite

The physicians, Inc. (TPI), an independent practice association of primary care physicians and medical specialists in Louisville, Ky., has notified Aetna U.S. Healthcare that it intends to terminate its association with the health-care provider, effective July 3, 1999.

Aetna U.S. Healthcare says it already has signed individual provider contracts with more than 1,000 of TPI's 1,800 physicians and expects to re-sign most of the remaining soon.

Disruption of medical services to UTU members and their families is expected to be minimal, Aetna said.
