Managed Care - Provider Changes
Members participating in Aetna U. S. Healthcare's managed care services should note the following changes recently announced by the firm:
On Sept. 24, 1998, UTU announced the decision of Health First, an independent practice association in Colorado, to discontinue its relationship with United HealthCare (UHC), effective Jan. 1, 1999.
We are pleased to announce now that Health First has signed a contract with UHC to provide services to railroad employees and their eligible dependents through Dec. 31, 1999.
Employees should be receiving written notification from UHC of this decision by Health First and the fact that they will not be re-assigned to new physicians as previously announced.
Additionally, members covered by Aetna U.S. HealthCare Managed Choice and Open Choice networks in the Gainesville, Ga., area are being advised that, effective January 1, 1999, Northeast Georgia Medical Center will no longer be a participating hospital.
Members should instead go to Columbia Lanier Park Hospital, except for obstetrical services which will continue to be offered at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
