Failure to test truck drivers for sleep apnea 'indefensible'

UTU Bus Department wins election by more than two (2) to one (1) vote for school bus drivers and aides for Laidlaw Transit, Inc. in Riverside, California. Laidlaw has approximately 190 school bus drivers and aides. The UTU wishes to thank all Laidlaw employees for choosing UTU as their collective bargaining representative.

I want to congratulate Chairpersons Karen Belcher and Jim Harford for their hard work in securing this win for the UTU.

The next step will be to gather ideas and suggestions from Laidlaw employees regarding a proposal for the first labor agreement between the parties. Meetings will be set up for the employees in the near future. We look forward to begin negotiations as soon as possible.
