Adirondack Transit Lines operators, maintenance, Albany Ticket and Baggage and Port Ticket and Baggage Agents reach a new 3-year tentative agreement with ADL

Adirondack Transit Lines operators, maintenance, Albany Ticket and Baggage and Port Ticket and Baggage Agents have been working under a contract extension since April 3, 1999 with the extension agreement set to expire at 12:01 a.m. on May 20, 1999 and with the threat of a strike imminent Chairpersons Ed Rosa, and Jim Kerner reached a new 3-year tentative agreement with ADL just before the deadline.

Vice President McNelis praised the hard work of Chairpersons Rosa and Kerner and their committee which consisted of Russ Gaillard, Ed Nagy and Louis Rivera for reaching the agreement under very difficult negotiating conditions.  McNelis also thanks State Legislative Director Sam Nasca for his valuable assistance during the negotiations.

The contract calls for about a 4.5% economic increase.  Improvements were made in wages, pension, holiday pay, vacation, health care as well as in other areas.   Improvements were also made in the working conditions.
