BUS DEPARTMENT NEWS
Evergreen Trails Part-Time Bus Drivers, (Local 324 Seattle, WA.) have elected to be represented by the UTU.
On October 22, 1999, Evergreen Trails Part-Time Bus Drivers, approximately 110, have elected to be represented by the UTU. Not only did they elect the UTU to be their bargaining representative, they elected to be part of Local 324 and join with their Sisters and Brothers who are full-time drivers with Evergreen Trails. General Chairperson Brian Donald, VC Dan Bentley and other members of the Committee and volunteers worked very hard throughout the entire organizing effort and are to be commended for their efforts.
We look forward to working with and for our new Sisters and Brothers now and in the future. We want to thank the part-time drivers who voted for the UTU and we look to earn the respect of all and look forward to representing all of the part-time drivers, whether they voted for the UTU or not and to make Evergreen Trails a united unit.
The next step is to gather ideas for the part-time proposals and once we put that proposal together we will set dates with the Company to begin negotiations on the part-timers behalf.
